The main role of the Sports Development Officer is to provide as many sporting opportunities for Abertay students and members of staff as possible. His remit therefore includes the Elite Athlete Development Programme, the Centre of Excellence for Women's Football, the Sports Union and recreational sport at the University.

Peter also represents the interests of Abertay on a number of national committees and has links to a number of sports clubs and teams across Dundee.

Peter is passionate about athlete centred coaching and developing the performances of all our sports teams. Peter is a qualified coach in a number of sports most notably football and cricket and has worked in Sports Unions in Scotland and London.

The gym facility at Abertay is supported by a number of Gym Assistants whose responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the gym and supporting the users of the gym in terms of inductions, programmes and motivation.
